Ecodesign

According to Directive 2009/125/EC, energy-related products should become more environmentally friendly, with the primary focus being on energy savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The requirements have been tightened in 2016 and 2018, and AirSite is at the forefront when it comes to energy-saving ventilation units.

We welcome the requirements for higher temperature efficiency, improved fan efficiency, and the mandate that air handling units must be equipped with control equipment for variable fan speed. Additionally, SFPint is introduced as a new measure of the electrical energy consumption in air handling units. It is based on the amount of electrical energy required to push air through filters and the heat exchanger.

The requirements for the minimum temperature efficiency for rotors and plate heat exchangers have been set at 73% since 2018.

The requirements for the minimum temperature efficiency for liquid-based heat recovery systems have been set at 68% since 2018.

Requirements for minimum fan efficiency are also in place for single-directional air handling units.

As manufacturers, we must also provide a range of performance data related to eco-design for each unit. This is done through the GreenMaster AHU Selection Software, which can be downloaded from our website. To make it easy to find this information, we have gathered all EcoDesign-related information on one page on our website.
